ECOVACS has removed the cover from its latest high-end robot vacuum and MOP (Deebot X9 Pro Omni) just months after its launch of the X8 Pro Omni at CES 2025.
The rapid launch cycle shows the Chinese brand’s intention to accelerate innovation in the robotic floor care space and keep pace with RoboRock, Dream, and Euphi.
The X9 Pro Omni core features the Ozmo Roller MOP system, originally introduced in the X8 Pro.
The OZMO system is designed to address common hygiene issues with traditional MOPS, providing 16 times more pressure than continuous self-cleaning with standard pads during operation.
The X9 Pro Omni features an independent, clean, dirty water tank built directly on the robot, allowing you to update your mop in real time while isolating contaminants.
The X9 also introduces some new features that you wouldn’t see in previous models. The redesigned brush system automatically lifts both the main and side brushes when wet messes are detected, reducing the risk of cross contamination and streaking.
It also includes a mop lifting feature on the carpet, and includes 145Β°F hot air drying within the Omni base station to prevent bacterial growth on the mop roller.
In fact, there is a slightly lower PA suction rate compared to the X8-16,660 and 18,000, but ECOVACS’s new blast (boost large suction technology) system is said to have undergone a significant overhaul.
The system features the company’s own super boost battery. This provides thermal efficiency and longer lifespan while supporting higher emission currents.
For pets and households with long hair, the upgraded Zerotangle 3.0 system adds a cyclone-oriented brush and an inward-facing side brush designed to minimize hair tangles. Edge and corner cleaning was handled by the Truedge 2.0 system and paired with retractable MOP and brushes to improve reach.
Omni stations need to wash and dry mops, manage dirty water and minimize user intervention.
Rather than completely replacing the X8, the X9 appears to be built on its foundations, prioritizing hygiene, real-world cleaning performance, and more advanced automation systems over raw suction diagrams.
ECOVACS is also expanding access to the roller mop platform with the simultaneous launch of the more affordable T80 OMNI, which includes the same self-cleaning MOP mechanism.
The Deebot X9 Pro Omni is available in the US for $1,299.99 as part of a limited-time launch offer (regular MSRP: $1,599.99). The promotion will run until May 19th.
