So I am marking this as 4 stars because I don’t want to rate it too negatively but users MUST know that this is incorrectly marketed as working with ipads! I have an ipad with the latest ios system (18.7.2), so in theory this could work but the ipad does not recognize it as an accessory even with a lot of troubleshooting. If one were to need to plug in a lightning usb drive into an ipad with a lightning port, you would need to get one of those adapters that allow you to plug the device into a wall outlet or external power source of some kind. I am repeating the words of an Apple support specialist- many ipads apparently to not deliver enough power to recognize lightning accessories like this one and they need an external power source. So even though this is marketed as functional with an ipad, I would stick to using this with an *iphone* only, in which case it should work just fine.

If your considering this as an OTG …. Don’t . so far it enables nothing nothing g after iOS 13 . Multi card reader that worked on my first gen SE and still didn’t do jack with this in my XR except snap the terminal off in my lighting port , Sandisk iExpand , nothing , sandisk apps did nothing …. Just complete nothingness . Nothing in my photos did a single thing to enable external storage transfer of files . Not even apples provided lightning to USB C cable did anything. I though it was the port because these broke off so much in to my phone. I really think apple disabled legacy USB privelages on all iPhones iOS 13 and further . My first Gen SE had the iBrary app with its cheap Walmart multi card reader and sim reader I moved files decently . So don’t consider . Not that I’m trying to bash sales but because it really won’t work. The only thing that worked was connecting an iPhone to an android phone and copying pictures from clouds …. “On my iPhone “ doesn’t let you near it tho. I even split this down to standard usb and those didn’t even work. Just not something apple is allowing anymore . iOS itself won’t even send a signal for power threw these anymore. And everything you see here . Works in all my android devices and my laptops . They all worked before updates , but not recently after 13 . CarPlay barely works on USB now. I wanted to do this to solve that annoying full storage error but nadda. Buy at your own risk. You have to be super careful or they break off from the boards inside, not sure why apple cut it … but it’s gone . The apps don’t even browse internal memory anymore
