The impressive engineering Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series creates bright, rich and vibrant pictures even in full sunlight. It’s a TV beast, but that’s because its solid metal frame is completely water and weather resistant. If you want to watch TV outdoors in any condition, this is a great choice.

Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 Series: Introduction
Outdoor TV may sound like an expensive luxury, but once you try it, it won’t come back, trust me. Some outdoor TVs require some shades, but the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series is designed for all weathering and works in everything from sunlight to snowstorms.
Certainly, it’s not cheap and a lack of some apps is a bit frustrating, but if you spend a lot of time outside and don’t want to miss out on your favorite shows, this very clever TV is great.
Design and installation
- All weather resistant casing
- No stand, wall mounting required
The Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 is available in 43-, 55, 65, and 75-inch sizes. We are reviewing the 55-inch model (OT55A2KOGF). Other sizes are available as OT43A2KOGF, OT65A2KOGF, and OT75A2KOGF.
Screen size aside, they are all bulky, big TVs with solid metal cases designed to withstand all the elements. If you’re used to a very refined modern TV with an ultra-thin bezel, the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series automatically stands out due to its size.
TVs have to withstand everything the outdoor environment can throw at it, so they don’t avoid bulk (it has an IP55 rating and is resistant to temperatures from -30°C to 50°C).
Take care and ask someone to help you unzip the box and set it up. The 55-inch model we reviewed weighs 21.8kg.
There is no stand provided, so you will need to attach the TV to the wall instead. A standard flat mount is probably best and you should place the mount where you can get this much weight. I installed a TV in a bar made from pallets.
Before mounting, remove the waterproof back panel to access three HDMI 2.1 (one EARC), satellite and coaxial antenna inputs, Optical Out, and Ethernet (wi-Fi is also available).
I think it’s worth connecting an HDMI cable and wrapping the bare edge in a plastic bag. Therefore, external devices can be connected if necessary.
Also, since Google TV OS didn’t have all the apps I wanted, I connected a Fire TV stick with a USB port (I’ll go into more detail later).
The lead in the kettle is used for power and has a metal cage that holds it in place. Once everything is connected, all fidley screws need to be returned to the rear panel and waterproofed again.

Features
- Run Google TV
- Waterproof remote TV
This version, reviewed on the previous TV reviewed on Ambient, Sylvox 55-inch Deck Pro Outdoor TV, runs Google TV rather than Android TV. There’s not much between the two in terms of interfaces, but the newer OS is better.
With Google TV you can configure your TV using your Android phone or iPhone (Android TV only supports setup via Android devices). In fact, this makes the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series setup faster than its predecessor.
Sylvox bundles a Bluetooth remote control in the box. This has an exterior waterproof appearance. This is a good choice as the company had shipped standard remotes and could be ruined by accidentally going outside.

I really like audio remotes, I have a responsive button and a shortcut button for Disney+, YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime videos. It’s strange that there’s no mute button. If you don’t need a sound, you must lower the volume.
For quick use, the side of the TV has physical power and volume buttons that can be used if the remote is not found.

Google TV offers a wider range of app support than Android TV, but some apps are not available. It supports major streaming services such as Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount+, and Disney+. Support for streaming apps in the UK is limited: Now and My5 are available, but ITVX and BBC Iplayer are not due to the lack of official support. Adding a Fire TV Stick fixes this. Live TVs are available on satellites or standard air.

performance
- Very bright
- It’s almost too bright at night
- Sounds a bit sneaky
The main difference between this and a regular TV is brightness. The SylvoxPoolPro 2.0 series has 2000 NIT panels. This is twice as bright as a Deck Pro, and is much brighter than a regular indoor TV (usually 300-450 nits on a regular TV, with HDR peaking higher).
This level of brightness makes the TV classified as a complete sunlight model. In other words, you can see it under the glare of the bright sun. That is absolutely true. Even with the sun shining on the screen, I still could still watch TV easily.

Well, bright scenes like typical sports are easy to watch, but darker mood content is hard to watch, so it’s better to wait until the night.
Dark scenes during the day
Dark night scene
At night you might want to dial a little bit of brightness. The TV is very bright and has some notable artifacts, including an uneven black background. Dial the brightness backwards and these issues go away.

A standard 60Hz panel is used. This is a bit behind the times of modern indoor television, but I think it’s a trade-off due to having a high brightness panel. So, this TV isn’t ideal for games, but it doesn’t seem to be the best use case.
HDR10 is available, but Dolby Vision is not available. Still, some HDR support is better than anything, with high brightness meaning you get the perfect burning bright peak that HDR can offer.
Ultimately, such televisions have a different compromise than what was built indoors. Starting this year, shoot flagship TV and watch it under ideal conditions in the darkness. Its image quality is better than the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series. Take that flagship TV and place it outside and it becomes garbage compared to Sylvox.
That’s an important thing to remember about this TV. It is built to function under the most demanding lighting conditions. The fact that the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series can create bright, vivid and detailed images outdoors is impressive.
Its thick metal case, high brightness and the fact that the sun shines, it means that heat is venting from the side of the TV and constant fan is moving. It’s more pronounced in quiet scenes, but not distracting when you see most things.

The sound is loud and you can hear the soundtrack clearly outside. When you go inside, it’s really good considering there’s no wall to turn off the audio. The audio gradually fades away and is surrounded, which is expected, but the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series is wrapped in a metal frame.
Dolby Atmos is supported, but the virtual surround effect is neither particularly noticeable nor attractive.
Sylvox sells waterproof soundbars if you want to improve audio quality, but we generally see that this set can work.
Final Thoughts
Due to normal TV standards, the Sylvox Pool Pro 2.0 series seems very expensive. Still, it’s well spent money: you’re paying for full waterproofing, you’re paying for a very bright panel that works in any lighting condition.
It can produce bright, vibrant and rich photos in any environment, and with audio with enough audio to fill your garden, this TV is a joy to use and helps you turn your outdoor space into a living room in warm weather.
