Works great

5 out of 5 stars

Works great
Called ecobee and they said it won't work. Waited for this transformer to arrive and just tried a test trial. Worked fine. Don't trust their customer support. It is actually very simple. It needs a c wire which this simulates.

Thank you for your feedback

This simple little power supply is exactly what we needed for our Ring doorbell.

It started to become frustrating removing and recharging our Ring doorbell every two weeks, and I finally decided to put a power supply on it.

The installation is pretty straightforward, especially if you have an outlet near your use location. In our case we ran the wire behind the ring, through the wall to the inside of the house. This worked perfectly and we had plenty of wire.

It would've been helpful to include some white staples, to secure the wiring to the wall, but it's hard to argue with the price and value.

Once installed, it will keep your Ring perpetually charged, powered and functioning. If you lose power, it's no big deal, as the built-in batteries will work for a couple weeks. One thing we noticed is that our Ring doorbell but now remains fully lit, with a white ring. That's pretty cool.

Overall, I highly recommend this power supply.

I bought Honeywell wireless smart thermostat RTH9585WF through the utility company promotion. I put it aside for some time (several months in fact) because it needs C-wire to install. My original thermostat was battery operated smart thermostat, therefore it didn't require C-wire. I knew the 24V AC transformer can provide non-existent C-wire functionality and finally bought this transformer. In order to conceal the transformer (in the attic) and wire, I had to snake the transformer wire through the ceiling and the wall to the thermostat wire hole. That took lots of effort in my case, not the fault of the product design. By the way, wire is long enough for most installation, but if it's not long then you can extend it. Once the transformer wire is out through the thermostat hole, installation is very simple. In my case, Red and White wire is connected to RH and W respectively. RH and RC was jumpered. Now the two transformer wires are connected to C and RC, respectively (polarity doesn't matter). That's it, the wiring is complete. Plug the transformer, Honeywell thermostat powers on. The initial screen stays on until you swipe it across, then the setup screen will appear. Now the star rating–why 4 stars? The wire is very thin and stranded, therefore it doesn't have the strength and rigidity to go through the connection hole in the thermostat terminal. I had to splice different and thicker wire strands to this transformer wire to put it into the terminal. It should have been pre-tinned or thicker, sold wire.

Worked perfectly for my Sensi thermostat! I only have red and white wires so I connected this transformer to the RC and C ports.

Excellent worked with my nest thermostat A++++++

  • Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2021

I was really looking forward to getting this installed and using it for my ring. Everything worked fine at first on the first one. I started it up before officially installing my ring and drilling holes to avoid all that hassle (spoiler it didn’t matter) after I had drilled and officially installed, I went to plug it in and it wouldn’t turn on anymore. Tried the plug where I had tested it out first and still nothing.

Called Ring and they tried helping me, but sadly couldn’t. They were gracious enough to replace for me.

Turns out that in the app it read that the adapter was at 34V (10 more than the max requirement) which explains why it burned it.

The box and adapter all say 24v so I don’t know if maybe it’s an error by manufacturers or error by the ring app (which is unlikely since it never turned on again)

So when I got my second Ring in the mail I was almost dumb enough to try it again, decided I would use the adapter on another device that took 34v but I found out that the adapter no longer worked… tested it with my volt tester and nothing came up anymore.

    Really disappointed in this product.
