Xiaomi X20 Pro Review

verdict

Very simply, stunning value, the Xiaomi X20 Pro can be vacuumed and wiped, and the dual microfiber brushes do a very good job. This system doesn’t have the higher functionality and the high-end suction power offered by its flagship rivals, but it’s hard to find something better as it requires a high-quality cleaner that can handle the daily mess.

  • Excellent value

  • I’ll clean it neatly

  • Good navigation

  • Can’t deal with the most severe spills

  • Easy to tangle your hair

Xiaomi X20 Pro: Introduction

It doesn’t seem like it was a stupid device that budget vacuum cleaners bouncing off and randomly cleaned.

Today, the Xiaomi X20 Pro may have a low-end price, but it is a fully featured robot vacuum cleaner with proper navigation, self-blow-off and self-cleaning stations and deep mopping capabilities.

Certainly, you miss the high power suction and obstacle avoidance features that flagship cleaners like the RoboRock Saros 10 have, but at this price it’s a bargain.

Design and Components

It’s hard to say that the Xiaomi X20 Pro is a bargain.

The Roborock Q5 Pro is a high-quality vacuum cleaner, but for just a little cash you can get the X20 Pro.

This is a revaluation at this price as it is the kind of station I would normally expect to see on much more expensive models.

This docking station has a 4 liter clean water tank and a 3.8 liter dirty water tank. This means that every clean tank refill had to empty the dirty tank.

This docking station does not take detergent and only more expensive models, such as the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, have this.

The dirt is sucked out from the robot into a 2-liter self-seal dust bag. Xiaomi says this can hold up to 75 days of dirt.

The docking station is impressive, but the main robot is not absent either. There is no proper rider navigation through the front dome. This will quickly navigate and map your Xiaomi X20 Pro.

This robot does not have a camera so it is impossible to spot common obstacles such as shoes and cables to avoid them. Before you set up this robot for this business, you need to clean up a bit, but that’s not a big deal.

The robot has a standard bottle inside, and uses a washable filter. This is worth rinsing once a month to maintain the highest level of suction.

Below that is a standard layout with a single brush roll, a motionless side brush.

Neither is an anti-pitch model, and I wrapped my hair around when I used them so I have to keep an eye on the situation and cut out tangled hair even using the tools provided.

There are dual microfiber mopping pads, which can be lifted up to 10mm from the ground, allowing the robot to navigate most short-pile carpets.

If you have a Deep-Pile Carpet, you will need a robot that can drop mopping cloths, such as the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, Robrock Saros 10R or Saros 10.

App

I manage my Xiaomi X20 Pro via Xiaomi Mi Home. This is the home of all the smart products of the company.

It was also the app used in the first Roborock product, so it has long been home to robot cleaners.

Like any cleaner, when the Xiaomi X20 Pro is connected to Wi-Fi, the app can perform a quick mapping run.

Thanks to Lidar, this job is fast and the app suggests room layout. That was something I touched on to my map, but the controls made the room easier to split and merge to fit the layout of my house.

Unusually for this price, you can also add furniture to your layout. Especially for things like dining tables, it’s worth it as you can choose furniture as a quick zone so you can clean it after meals.

No Go Zone and No Mop Zone can be used to stop the Xiaomi X20 Pro from going to an area you don’t want, or to block areas that can cause it to get into trouble.

Cleaning options include selection of the entire house, a room (or room), or zones you can draw and create by tapping on furniture.

After that, you can vacuum only, vacuum and mop, vacuum, mop or mop only.

There is no automatic cleaning mode. The Xiaomi X20 Pro offers four manual vacuum power modes (silent, standard, strong, turbo), three water levels for mopping, and three routing paths (quick, standard, deep).

There are not many advanced configuration methods. It has a main option automatic carpet recognition and an automatic power boost with soft flooring.

performance

The Xiaomi X20 Pro’s vacuum is rated at 5000Pa. This is about half of more expensive midrange cleaners, such as the Roborock Qrevo Slim.

As you can imagine, the performance is a bit mixed.

With carpets, general confusion is fine, but the Xiaomi X20 Pro struggles with deeper spills and cannot be cleaned up quickly in the fibers. Performance on hard floors is significantly better as it is a more manageable task and is effective even in edge cleaning.

Mopping performance is excellent at price. The standard floor dirt is wiped out, but the mopping system struggles with sticky messes like ketchup.

To remove these types of dirt, you will need a robot that uses hot water and detergent.

Battery life is quoted at 180 minutes at the lowest setting. This means that you don’t have to worry about battery life. Two passes did a quick clean of the entire floor, but the spot job left some power.

Final thoughts

It is combined with all the above summary and verdicts, but is more concise. Also repeat the reasons why it is better or worse than the alternative.

Testing method

When publishing reviews, you can reassure them that they are the result of a long-term test “live.”

Robot cleaners usually live within the ecosystem, or a range of different products where everything works harmoniously. It is also designed to offer a variety of cleaning options. Therefore, it is impossible to use a robot cleaner for a week to provide a verdict.

As you test your smart home kit every day, you know what’s important and how a particular smart cleaning machine will compare to the alternatives you are also considering.

Our reviews are comprehensive, objective and fair, and of course, you will not be paid directly to review your device.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
